Yep. I had seen pictures of one and watched a video on youtube, and then just kind of winged it. I'm still amazed it works. It doesn't have valves, and relies entirely on magic to function.

Ah shoots. I love precision machining. Wish I had the gear/talent. My 7th-9th grades in the midwest had monster shops where we did all kinds of work from foundry, to welding, to fabricating of metal products (not to mention drafting, wood, plastics, engines, etc.) I have used those skills through my entire life.

Faster cooking dinner? How about an oil based solar system that pipes the hot oil around a pressure cooker? 400+ degrees should make quick work of dinner. Assuming you're cooking at noon.
